It has been 70 years since Drake joined the club as head coach in 1952, and his influence can still be felt at Stamford Bridge. The home jersey for the new season continues this theme, with several jersey design highlights acknowledging the innovative changes he made during the modernization of the club and one of the greatest turning points in the club's history.

The visionary ex-Chelsea boss led his side to their first ever top-flight title in 1955 when he made wise signings, in stark contrast to the shady big-name signings of the past. At the same time he revolutionized the club on and off the pitch, making a huge contribution and leaving Chelsea with a long-lasting legacy. He changed the club's nickname from 'the Pensioners' to 'the Blues', which he felt was a better fit for the dynamic team he had built. The "Blues" name has remained since then and will also appear on the collar button details of the replica Chelsea shirt.

The collar of the fake football shirts also showcases another change Drake made to the club's identity that has stood the test of time - the introduction of the iconic "lion rampant regard" (roaring blue Lion), replacing the image of retired Chelsea veterans in the previous team logo, has become the spiritual core of the team under the leadership of the legendary coach.

The current crest bears a strong resemblance to the one on Drake's shirt in his final season at Stamford Bridge in 1960/61, with the 'lion rampant regard' still in place and continuing to inspire the team to fight for honour.

This crest symbolizes Chelsea's determination and fearlessness, and the lion badge appears in the form of a turquoise pattern on the neckline. A detail reminiscent of the 1950s, yet contemporary, it feels as fresh today as Drake's vision of the future.
